FC Barcelona Australasia are offering clubs the chance to PARTNER with FC Barcelona and implement the FC BARCELONA COMMUNITY FOOTBALL PROGRAM in Australia.


ABOUT BARCA COMMUNITY FOOTBALL:

FC Barcelona has as their slogan "mes un club", which means more than a club.

Though they are famous for their outstanding style of play and their results at the highest level, they are much more than a football club.

ORIGINS:
They are very much a community club with values that most Australians support. The club was born out of adversity, and the need of the Catalan people to unite to survive the bloodshed in Spain around WW2.

From that difficult period it was decided that FCB would DISPLAY their values in the way they play sport every time they take the field: friendship, respect, commitment, mateship, solidarity, integrity.

FCB has many sporting clubs under it's banner. Members play rugby, futsal, handball, basketball etc. as well as football under the FCB banner.

CHARITY:

FCB has a very different perspective on sport than most clubs and support very worthwhile charitable causes in Australia and around the world.
For example, instead of capitalizing on their shirt value, FCB has the logo of UNICEF on the front of their playing strip, and give over 1 million euros to UNICEF each year to help underpriveleged children all over the world.
In Australia, FCBA Community Football has implemented programs with Father Riley's Youth Off The Street, St Vincent De Paul Outreach, and NSW Sport and Rec Programs.

COMMUNITY GROUPS:
Throughout the world and in Spain, FCB have many Penyes, or supporter groups. These groups and their members support the club and adopt the worthy principles of the club. Many are also involved in Barca Community Football. We urge all members to join and show their support.

WHO:
Clubs and community groups who are willing to train and play under the Barca values and philosophy can partner with Barca Community Football.
It is predominantly about grassroots football but it also caters to the elite.
Grassroots footballers aged 5-8 can be learn to play football the Barca way using their systems.
Elite players aged 9-14 have the opportunity to be scouted in Australia by FCB's Talent Identification Program in September each year.
Players, coaches and parents can also tour and train at the famous FC Barcelona Escola in Spain. This is great news for those that want to play the Barca way!!

WHAT:
Barca Community Football is a very worthwhile endeavour. It joins the worthy principles of Barca, and also offers the opportunity to implement Barca's football expertise. The outcome is that young lives are enriched, and communities become supporters of a very big worldwide family that supports football and real community values.

WHEN:
Players train in the Barca system twice a week in school terms throughout the football and futsal seasons March to November.

COST: $10 per session, per player for training. $15 for FC Barca Australasia membership and insurance. $45 for Barca playing strip: shirt, shorts and socks.
